Some speed-painted Confederate Command. The larger base has two mounted Adventure Miniatures figures. I think the two drummer boys are Sash and Saber and honestly, I have no idea who makes the standard Bearer.

The Brigade general is a Perry figure and the two foot figures are also Perry Plastics.

  1. As to ACW, I’m wondering as a resident of the Great White North whether we’ll be fending off Americans at our borders or if the US is going to break down into two Americas with very different values and at least one of those seems to be okay making up laws and ignoring course.

I’ve kind of went off for wargames in Europe from having seen Ukraine and having comrades and close friends helping in places near there and now thinking of my Americans friends and the chaos with in their country (which is hammering at us, just because they’ve noting else to do)… wish for everyone a different turn of a Republic slipping into Empire.

It’s scary to think that my 17 soon to be 18 year old daughter may be getting conscripted if we end up playing a Ukraine to an American Empire.

    1. And to also, I should have said, is I fear the American forces taking Taiwan (where much of the worlds semiconductors are created) and then looking to Australia and New Zealand (after all, China wants to own all of the South China Sea and further a bit further on). Not a great place for NZ, Australia, Japan or South Korea.

  2. Great work on these Brian, and a real mix of figure manufacturers that work really well together.

  3. I really enjoy your blog. Nicely painted lads. I live in Virginia near Spotsylvania Courthouse. A lot of civil war battles fought in my county. I wonder, does ACW gaming carry in baggage in NZ. Since I got into it, I have found lots of gamers view playing the Confederates akin to the SS. OBTW my family wore Butternut and Gray.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment.
As to your question – no, playing CSA here in ACW wargames is not devisive at all. As an aside, we had our own slavery here in New Zealand until 1840 when the British Crown took over and forbade it. Slaves here were used for work, and as mobile meat supplies for when the chief got a hunger for something other than fish or bird meat. So somewhat different from chattle slavery as practised in the US in those days. Of course, that part of our history is ignored by modern academics and so on. Pre-European New Zealand was a rainbow coloured paradise according to them.
