Finally finished the core of my Texas Brigade. The 1st, 4th and 5th Texas. To round this brigade out a couple of regiments from other States are planned. The miniatures are all Elite Miniatures, a small range that has a lot of character. The firing line unit has really only got two poses with a bunch of head variants. I think they still look pretty good. I enjoyed painting these units – a good thing because I have another two regiments in my lead pile and another five on order from Elite Miniatures Australia. I am picking them up when I visit Australia next week. Postage to my sister’s place was a lot cheaper than to New Zealand.

These models were all painted with Army Painter Speed Paints (plus a few dabs of regular paint as well). I did not spend a lot of time on them – just pumped them out. Four days per regiment, give or take, in between work and farm chores. Not the greatest work I have done but the fastest I think.

The Command Base, representing Gen J.B. Hood are Adventure Miniatures figures from Elite Miniatures Australia.

1st Texas.

4th Texas.

5th Texas.

Command – Hood and Aide.

And the whole brigade so far on the kitchen table.

  1. Beautiful work again Brian. I decided to give the ACW a go in 10mm and am looking forward to getting stuck into them, but your work is very inspirational in the meantime.

    1. When I firs thought about doing ACW I pondered 10mm or 1/72nd plastic. In the end I went with what I could see better 🙂
