I was going to buy a few bags of Old Glory ACW casualty figures but decided that between our exchange rate and the cost of postage I would rather spend that money on miniatures that were still vertical. I have made a bunch of the dial-style casualty bases for my Anglo-Zulu Wars and some of my Napoleonic Armies. This time I used my favourite free drawing package – MS-Paint – and a whole bunch of cutting and pasting from various images to make flat token-style casualty markers. These are cut out and glued to 25mm mdf round bases. I think they turned out OK. What do you think?

If you want to use these here are base images. You may have to jiggle with size when you print these to get them to fit whatever round base you want.

  1. Not a bad idea at all! Certainly easier than sourcing casualties then painting them.

    1. Indeed. I like miniature casualty figures but they are an effort to paint.

Great idea Brian. I was on the Perry website yesterday afternoon looking to order several boxes of Perry Napoleonic casualties for some Warbases dials, but both were out of stock. This has now got me re-thinking.

    1. I have been cutting and gluing enough to make the hundred counters I have – hard on the arthritic fingers!

      2. I have a low carb diet – as much as I can. Also intermittent fasting – lost 17kg so far. Holiday did not help. Can I use the medieval casualty markers you made?

      3. I did not make them myself, I think the guy posted them so that anyone could use them.
