This is the first unit I have painted using speed paints/contrast paints. I am still not sure I am getting any reduction in production time but that is probably more a function of my chronic procrastination when it comes to actually painting. My next unit is a 25 figures Confederate infantry unit so should be a better indication of how good these paints will be for me. All in all, I am not too displeased with the result on these dismounted cavalrymen. That is a good thing because I have another 27 Union and 36 Confederate dismounted cavalry to paint.

Have you tried these paints yet? If so, what is your verdict?

They look great Brian. The contrast on a dark blue can be difficult to see using normal methods and I often wonder why I bother, but it really shows up well on these figures.

    1. I have about three dark blue contrast paints so getting one that looked right without mixing paints took some experimenting.
