I painted these using Army Painter Speed Paints (for the most part). My first Confederate regiment and I am pretty happy how this unit turned out. I am giving another Speed Paint unit or two a go before I decide whether or not to stick with it or go back to my normal method. They still look better at wargaming distances rather than close up – but still. The miniatures are Elite Miniatures obtained from Nathan at Elite Miniatures Australia. They are big miniatures that tower over the 28mm Perrys. Flags are GMB classics.

When I painted these guys I used a method of mixing and matching colours based on an article by Marc Renouf at Goonhammer (https://www.goonhammer.com/how-to-paint-everything-acw-confederates/). It was quite instructive and I can recommend it.

Great work Brian. I remember stumbling across that article a while back. A useful approach to introduce a bit of variability .
