As promised here are my completed Questing Knight units. As I have said in an earlier post, these guys are really nice models. As with all my Bretonnian Knights I have gone with strong plain primary colours for their heraldry.
Ranked up in the Bretonnian Lance formation. I am still not convinced it looks like a lance head but does make easier construction of movement trays. Talking of which – mine have a 5mm separator between ranks to keep horses from knocking noses with tails.
This knight is the 5th Edition Baron Odo d’Outremer. Used as is without any modifications other than a 6th Ed charger.
This is the one plastic knight I used in the two nine-man lances. He was modified only by the addition of a great sword arm from a 5th Ed Bretonnian Hero (that figure was wielding the sword two handed so I cut the hilt off after the right hand and drilled a bit of wire in to make an extended hilt).
This is a Questing Knight wielding a two handed axe.
Rear view of same. I made all the guff for his saddle from spares and bits. I have no idea where the spare lute came from.
This knight is the 5th Edition Sir Tristan model. Questing Knights don’t carry lances so I made him into another banner bearer. Added a beard as well. All that traveling – no time to shave.
This Questing Knight miniature is one of the ones that came in single blister packs. Do you remember those days? I think he is Sir Brian the Blessed. His gear includes a ham and a helmet full of potatoes.

Yet one more. One thing I can say for the Bretonnian knight and peasant sprues, they sure had a lot of extras on them,

In this shot you can see the 5th Edition Repanse de Lyonesse. Her lance converted to a standard with a reliquary on top. I gave her more hair and made her a Ginger as well.

Thanks Scott. I brought several sheets of water slide transfers from a guy in the States some years ago. They are getting a bit old but a bit of glue holds them down.

I got hold of two boxes and also the single blister ones in the first few years after they came out. I have this feeling that when Bretonnians finally get redone half my army wont be “legit” under the new codex. Oh well. They still look pretty.
Have you thought of Gamezone questing knights? They are full metal and quite cool.

I don`t care about legit to be honest. You can always use the unit “as”. Gamezone are expensive too: http://gamezoneminiatures.de/feudalritter/questritter-regimentsbox.html for that price I could easily collect whole unit. and my all army is 5th and 6th and 7th edition of GW, GZ miniatures don`t fit I think.

I have a unit of the Gamezone Grail knights. They are nice and fit OK. Seen a few mixed units with GW and GZ on the Roundtable if I remember correctly. Also seen some really nice conversions from the standard plastic KoTR into Questing knights using Empire greatweapons. All doable.
I don’t care about legit either actually. I would just play older rules with friends anyway. I am not a tournament gamer in any way.

Idea of converting KOTR into QK is tempting. I will take a look through my bits box and try to do one guy 😉 If I like it consider yourself as a Godfather of it haha

Thank you. I am working on the second one but I found it is not easy to make characteristic knight just with plastics. I will have to do some green stuff work.

I used greenstuff to make rolled blankets etc and used plastic spears to make a frame for baggage. Also, as an idea – look at possibility of using other than GW. Front Rank and other manufacturers have knight models that can be a starting point.
